Day 8 is off to Sunten Electronics. Sunten Electronics is a up-scale company that produces electronics such as transformer, reactor, sub-station, switch gear etc. apparently, many industries uses its products such as airport, dam generators, train stations etc. we learn that despite it being an important up-scale company in the economy, there are many challenges that needed to be overcome as well. one of which is the increasing cost of copper and steel as well as competitors that are emerging in the market. The CEO of the company also told us that they actually have plans to join-venture with a french company to help overcome the many challenges they are facing currently. out of all the companies we visited, this is probably the only company that has plans to join-venture.
i feel that the company's move to join-venture is a decision that is a very respectable one. this is so because they are not afraid of the many changes that will occur in the company. with joint-venture, they will have lesser control and lesser say in the company. this shows that they are actually focusing more on the positive impacts which is very brave and admirable.

later in the day, we went to National Torch High-Tech Industrial Development Zone. this company is very much like the very first company we visited in HK. they provide more of a service to the local/overseas companies rather than having the aim of being a normal profitable company. their purpose is to try to attract foreign companies to set-up their companies there. another role of theirs is to draw up plans and locate the different companies at different parts of ZhongShan to prevent harming factors like pollution. they are the ones that determines the location of the companies in ZhongShan.
