by now, time was spent mostly on travelling on the road as the traffic in China is very unpredictable. because of that, time was very constrained and we had to forgo some of the companies that was originally planned in the itinerary. anyhow, we went to Aztech. a company that brought everyone closer to home. Aztech is a company run by a Singaporean and it makes things much easier for us, especially during our time for questions. we felt very comfortable there as Mr Mun, the boss of Aztech, could relate to us much better.
i had the most impression of Aztech even after we return because it was the only foreign company that we visited that entered the China market. Indeed, Aztech's spirit of perservering through difficult times and its constant positive attitude towards challenges made a huge impact on me and deserved to be recognised. i feel that it plays as a role model for other foreign companies to follow as it did not conform to the society's norm and succumb to temptations in terms of bribery etc. i clearly remembered Mr Mun saying that Aztech went through a rough patch and was in the red for a few years. but they stood by their principles and beliefs and managed to get out of the red eventually. his words were really impactful and the CEO once said, "protect your own wealth". that hit me pretty hard and made me understand the real business 'dog eat dog' world out there, especially when you're overseas, away from your own territory.
Also, Aztech is one company that regards the welfare of their employees highly. accomodation and facilities were provided and it impressed me a whole lot. they practically have everything necessary, including a clinic and a mini mart in the premises of the factory. it just shows how much thought have been put into the welfare of the employees in making their working environment a pleasent and enjoyable one.
i have truly learnt alot from Aztech and it is the company that has left the biggest impact on me. i truly admire the leadership of the company and how it is being run. there were even motivational and safety posters around the whole factory to encourage and remind the workers about safety. it is one company that deserves to be complimented and recognised. the entire session with Mr Mun was so interactive and productive such that there weren't enough time for all our questions. it caused us to be very interested in learning and got many us thinking. the trip to Aztech was indeed very productive and the knowledge we gained from it, is definitely immeasureable. at the end of the day, i was really thankful for the trip made to Aztech. There's just so much to learn from it. :)
