we departed from HK and took a 2hr journey ride to Shenzhen. by then, our mindsets were starting to piece everything together and we were more or less ready and prepared as to what to expect from this trip. We went to Materials City for the company visit and it was indeed an eye-opening experience. Materials City was so huge that we had to take a buggy to tour around the whole place! i was seriously quite amazed by it. and the buggy ride was pretty cool :) It was a place where suppliers and buyers meet for transactions to take place. It is very convenient for the buyers because suppliers of the same industry will be clustered together at one area. this makes it very easy for the buyers to shop around and compare prices. personally, i think this concept is very creative and well designed as it 'forces' the suppliers to have competition among themselves, constantly improving on their products and evaluate on their prices. This will only help the suppliers to improve as they struggle to survive. ultimately, it is those companies of top notch products that will remain, bringing up the standards of Materials City.
with that, we left Materials City with our journal filled with a treasure chest of notes and proceeded with our leisure activities. all in all, it was a day well spent :)
